Quality Manager Defence

Complex defence projects
Shape project quality
International collaboration

Are you a Quality Manager or Quality Assurance Manager with experience in technical projects? For an internationally active organisation in the maritime sector, we are looking for someone who can apply quality management principles, ISO 9001 and AQAP requirements to complex defence projects. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, production and project management to ensure that quality can be demonstrated from design through to delivery.

Company information

You will join an internationally active technical organisation in the maritime sector. Its projects require close collaboration across disciplines and careful translation of customer requirements into practice. During an introductory conversation, we would be pleased to tell you more about the organisation, its projects and your role.

Vacancy information

In this role, you bring engineering, procurement, production and project management together on quality matters. You clarify which requirements apply, which checks are needed and what evidence must be available at handover. You will also have the opportunity to improve processes and help colleagues put them into practice.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Translating contractual quality requirements, including AQAP, into project-specific quality plans;
  • Monitoring quality throughout design, procurement, production, testing and delivery;
  • Preparing for and supporting audits, inspections and customer visits;
  • Assessing suppliers and following up on quality agreements;
  • Investigating nonconformities and monitoring corrective actions;
  • Ensuring that quality records and handover documentation are complete and traceable;
  • Advising project teams on quality risks and improvements.

What do we offer

  • A key role in complex technical projects in the maritime and defence sectors;
  • The opportunity to influence system quality from design through to delivery;
  • Scope to improve quality processes and take ownership;
  • Collaboration with technical specialists, project teams and international partners;
  • Opportunities to develop your expertise in quality management and AQAP;
  • A salary reflecting your experience and the responsibilities of the role;
  • A competitive benefits package.

What do you need

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience, preferably in a technical field;
  • Solid experience in quality management and ISO 9001 within technical projects;
  • Experience with AQAP, preferably AQAP 2110, is a strong advantage. You are willing to develop your knowledge of the requirements applicable to the projects;
  • Experience with audits, supplier quality and nonconformity management;
  • The ability to explain technical and contractual requirements clearly to different disciplines;
  • Good communication skills in English. Dutch is an advantage.

Experience in the maritime sector or on defence projects is welcome, but we also encourage candidates from other technical industries to apply.
