Structural Engineer

From design to reality
Great team atmosphere

For this position, a reasonable level of proficiency in the Dutch language is required.

You don’t just design and calculate it. You also see it being built.

As a Structural Engineer, you work on custom-built structures that need to perform safely and reliably under demanding conditions. You combine structural calculations with practical engineering insight and see in the company’s own production environment what is ultimately built from your engineering.

Company information

Our client is a medium-sized Dutch engineering and manufacturing company that has been developing and building complex, custom-made technical installations and equipment for many years. Engineering and production work closely together, allowing you to communicate quickly and see directly what happens with your design.

The culture is down-to-earth and technical. Many employees have been with the company for a long time, creating a strong base of specialist knowledge and experience. At the same time, the organisation is growing and expanding its engineering team. This makes it a great time to join a stable company where there is room for new people, ideas and technical solutions.

Vacancy information

As a Structural Engineer, you are responsible for the structural substantiation within projects. You define the engineering principles, perform structural and strength calculations and ensure that designs are not only technically correct, but also safe and practical to manufacture. Thanks to the close cooperation between engineering and production, you can actually see your solutions come to life in the final product.

Your responsibilities:

  • Define structural principles, concepts and design criteria
  • Perform and review structural calculations and analyses
  • Assess designs for loads, risks, safety and manufacturability
  • Verify designs against Eurocodes, EN 1090, CE requirements and relevant standards
  • Prepare calculation reports and technical documentation
  • Coordinate structural solutions with engineering, production, clients and other stakeholders
  • Support engineering and production with structural questions during execution

What do we offer

  • A gross monthly salary of €4,000 to €5,800, depending on knowledge and experience
  • Excellent leave conditions with plenty of days off
  • A high level of responsibility and influence on technical design decisions
  • Complex structural challenges with significant technical depth
  • Close cooperation between engineering and in-house production
  • The opportunity to actually see your engineering being built
  • A stable working environment within an organisation that plans to grow further in the coming years

What do you need

We are mainly looking for a Structural Engineer who enjoys taking responsibility for their own technical discipline and who looks beyond the calculations alone.

  • HBO/Bachelor level in Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a comparable technical field
  • Experience with structural design and calculations
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes, EN 1090 and CE requirements
  • Experience preparing or reviewing calculation reports
  • Analytical and accurate, with a strong eye for practical manufacturability
  • Experience in machinery, maritime, offshore or heavy industry is an advantage, but not a strict requirement
  • Available for a position in the Bergen op Zoom region
