Mechanical Designer in Construction, Draftsman

Function
As a Mechanical Designer you work on very specific projects, mainly for the (Petro) Chemical, steel and aluminum industry. The department is responsible for developing projects related to steel construction, equipment construction and mechanical engineering so that production can start in time in the factory. We are looking for an Engineer but also have room for a Lead Engineer or a candidate who can grow into this.
Specific duties in this role:
- Interpreting drawings of existing technical installations;
- Thinking of smart solutions based on existing designs and tools;
- Detailed projects according to schedule and within budget;
- perform (or have carried out) thermal engineering and strength calculations (ANSYS);
- Drawing up and calculating bills of materials;
- Making engineering budgets;
- Further development of internal engineering procedures;
- Consultation with clients and the production department;
- Reports to the Manager Engineering & Projects.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, we require at least the following qualities:
- At least MBO-4, for example towards mechanical engineering;
- At least 2 years of experience as a draftsman / constructor or project engineer within mechanical engineering or steel construction;
- The built-in ability to work accurately;
- Experience with 2D and 3D AutoCAD and Inventor is desirable;
- Speaking the Dutch language
