Function
As Integration Engineer Interior, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks in the field of interior outfitting, such as accommodation, insulation, floor covering and various ship-specific living and working spaces. You will ensure the successful subcontracting of the required joinery and accommodation systems, including detailed engineering. You will support and consult the purchasing department on technical matters. Furthermore, you will play a key role in transforming design concepts into detailed technical specifications and overseeing the engineering and production support process.
Specific duties in this role include:
- Performing technical writing of specifications based on the contract, rules, regulations and applicable standards.
- Developing detailed technical specifications for joinery works.
- Liaising with both suppliers and other stakeholders in order to determine final technical specifications.
- Preparing the orders in collaboration with the purchasing department.
- Perform required technical calculations to validate the design.
- Responsible for integration of delivered components/systems into ship design in close cooperation with internal departments, suppliers.
- Participate in design checks and reviews in order to guarantee the required quality.
- Final inspection at supplier.
Requirements
- Professional education on Bachelor level related in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Civil Architect, or related field.
- Proven experience as Technical Specification Engineer or similar role, focusing on joinery works.
- Good knowledge of joinery materials, techniques and industry standards.
- Proficiency in using CAD software for technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex engineering data.
- Able to work and manage third-party vendors and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English language.
