Cable Design Manager

Function

In this position, you will be responsible for leading the design phase of offshore wind export and inter-array cable projects and tenders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists and play a key role in the successful delivery of design-build (EPCI) cable projects. As Cable Design Manager, you will ensure optimal technical solutions that meet project life-cycle requirements, stakeholder expectations, and client success criteria.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Leading and coordinating the offshore wind cable design process throughout all project phases.
• Developing optimal design solutions considering technical, commercial, and life-cycle aspects of the project.
• Interfacing with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve complex challenges related to design, fabrication, installation, and operation of offshore wind farms.
• Providing engineering expertise and technical guidance to support project execution and tender activities.
• Supporting the commercial tendering process by reviewing technical tender documents and participating in contractual client meetings.
• Assisting in the selection, evaluation, and contracting of third-party cable and cable protection system suppliers.
• Establishing and maintaining design management tools, including design schedules, risk and opportunity registers, design decision registers, and design management plans.
• Leading and/or contributing to internal research and development initiatives aimed at innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in offshore wind cable or related offshore engineering projects.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
