Simulation Engineer

Discipline: Multidisciplinary
Branch: Shipbuilding and repair
Workweek:40 hour
Jobs ID:#3824

Simulation Engineer

Are you ready to design and bring to life high-tech simulation systems that push the limits of engineering? As a Simulation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in creating and implementing advanced shore-based simulation and testing environments. These cutting-edge systems are crucial for validating the functionality and integration of complex naval technology before it ever reaches the vessel.Salary up to €5000 a month.

Function

You will develop simulation concepts that accurately replicate shipboard system behavior and support a wide range of testing—from validating individual subsystems to conducting full mission simulations. Depending on the vessel type and project scope, your work may involve setting up Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments, building test benches, and creating shore-based control interfaces.

Following the V-model methodology within a 3DExperience engineering environment, your designs will be reviewed, simulated, and verified during engineering and testing phases. The result: a reliable, high-fidelity simulation setup that enables safe commissioning, crew training, and early detection of potential issues—helping ensure the smooth delivery of advanced naval projects worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop functional descriptions, test scenarios, and technical specifications for shore-based simulation systems.
  • Design and implement simulation environments that replicate automation, power, or mission systems.
  • Set up and integrate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches and other simulation setups for system validation and training.
  • Prepare and maintain test plans and validation procedures in line with Class regulations and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and subcontractors to align simulation requirements with actual system designs.
  • Review and integrate vendor deliverables related to simulation interfaces.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at shore facilities.
  • Contribute to the development of simulation and validation standards for future projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in designing, setting up, or integrating simulation and testing environments—ideally in maritime, offshore, or aerospace projects.
  • Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems, signal interfacing, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Experience in complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of system modeling, control logic, and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, TwinCAT, LabVIEW) is a plus.
  • Excellent references, as security screening is part of the hiring process.

Company

Our client is a company active in the Shipbuilding Industry. They design and build various types of ships and they are well-known by their high-quality products.

Offer

Monthly salary up to €5000 (depending on experience)
38 vacation days (including compensatory time off)
