Function
As Team Lead Engineering, you manage a team of engineers responsible for the design of onboard electrical systems for maritime projects. While technical content is directed by the (Technical) Project Manager, you remain accountable for team performance, capacity planning and the personal and professional development of your engineers.
You operate in a multi-location environment, requiring regular interaction with team members across sites, and you contribute to the continuous improvement and standardisation of engineering processes.
Specific duties in this role include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of engineers
- Ensuring the right competencies and capacity for ongoing and future projects
- Facilitating tools, knowledge sharing and professional development
- Working closely with project managers and technical project managers
- Contributing to standardisation and continuous improvement of engineering processes
- Supporting the execution of operational plans within engineering
Requirements
We are looking for a confident and people-oriented team lead who feels at home in a technical environment and knows how to connect, motivate and develop professionals.
- Bachelor’s level education
- Affinity with engineering and technical projects
- Proven experience in a leadership or coaching role
- Experience within a project- or matrix-driven organisation is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, coaching and entrepreneurial mindset
