Automation Engineer (Minimal €46K/year)

Function

As an Automation Engineer, you’ll ensure that all automated systems on board ships function properly. Think of systems for power supply, propulsion, safety, and communication. You design how these systems should work together to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.

You’ll work closely with colleagues, suppliers, and testers. You check whether everything is designed correctly, meets all regulations, and works according to the client’s expectations — first on paper, then on the actual ship. In the end, you’ll contribute to building vessels that are ready to protect people at sea.

Your tasks include:

• Designing and documenting how the automation systems should function.
• Keeping track of required components and materials.
• Creating test plans: how do we test if everything works — both digitally and in real life?
• Coordinating with suppliers and reviewing their work.
• Contributing to the early design phase of projects.
• Occasionally providing technical support during testing or final delivery.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with automation systems.
• Experience in maritime, offshore, or aerospace is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Strong team player who can collaborate with different departments.
• Fluent in English (willingness to learn Dutch is appreciated).
• EU citizenship (required due to the nature of the projects).

• Monthly gross salary starting at €3,500 (based on 40 hours/week).
