Business Process Expert

We are currently looking for a motivated Business Process Expert who will play a key role in optimizing workflows for shipbuilding projects.

Function

As a Business Process Expert, you will lead initiatives to design, improve and implement business processes across the organization. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of shipbuilding projects, helping to increase productivity, minimize waste, ensure compliance with required standards, and improve collaboration between departments.

You will work closely with stakeholders across engineering, project management, operations, supply chain, and IT to ensure that all business processes are aligned, well documented, and fully integrated into digital systems.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Lead cross-functional projects to analyse current workflows, identify inefficiencies and risks, and document optimized processes for all shipbuilding programs.
• Facilitate workshops to gather requirements, ensure stakeholder alignment, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with colleagues, suppliers, and other internal partners to ensure processes meet operational needs and compliance requirements.
• Monitor and report on the impact of process improvements against key KPIs such as cost, quality, delivery time, and compliance.
• Support digital transformation by integrating PLM, ERP, MES, and related systems into optimized business workflows.
• Recommend and implement process improvements based on Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, or project management methodologies.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of the shipbuilding industry or other complex (project) manufacturing environments.
• Proven project management experience with strong knowledge of business process mapping, analysis, and re-engineering techniques.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PRINCE2, BPM, or similar process improvement methodologies.
• Experience with Planning, PLM, MES, and ERP concepts in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Excellent communication skills in English, stakeholder management abilities.
