Service Engineer Propulsion Systems

Job in a nutshell: Install new propulsion systems within the yacht building industry and provide service to existing systems. Interested? Read on!

Function

No two weeks are the same. One week you’ll be preparing for the installation of a propulsion system for a yacht in the Netherlands. The next week, you’ll fly to Spain to provide service and maintenance on an existing system. You’ll communicate directly with the ship owner and get to work, either independently or with a colleague.

As a Service Engineer, you’ll be the face of the company for many clients. You’ll fully understand the importance of this and will always strive to provide excellent service. You work meticulously and do everything possible to ensure the client chooses your company again in the future.

Specific tasks in this role include:

  • Preparing work for both new build projects and service/maintenance projects.
  • Installing propulsion systems, mainly at shipyards in the Netherlands.
  • Providing service and maintenance at client locations, mostly in the Mediterranean region.
  • Maintaining contact with the project manager about the progress of projects.
  • Performing all associated administrative tasks.

Requirements

You would be a suitable candidate if you recognize yourself in the following:

  • You have completed a relevant technical education.
  • You enjoy a role that combines office work with travel.
  • You have strong technical insight.
  • You communicate easily and professionally in both Dutch and English.
  • You are solution-oriented; “can’t” doesn’t exist for you.

Company

You’ll be working at a company that designs, builds, and sells propulsion systems for the shipbuilding industry, with a special focus on yachts. In addition to new builds, the company also offers service and maintenance for existing propulsion systems. Service Engineers travel worldwide to provide this service. The company currently has 2 Service Engineers and, due to growth, is looking to add 2 more.

The company is known for its high-quality propulsion systems, customer-focused approach, and pragmatic work style. It consists of 10 employees working closely together, and because it’s a small organization with short communication lines, you’ll have the opportunity to work beyond the scope of your own role.

Offer

  • Salary between €3,000 and €5,000 gross per month.
  • Additional allowances for working on location.
  • A generous holiday package (at least 35 days).
  • Training budget.
  • Pension scheme.
