As a Technical Application Engineer, you will ensure the performance, security, and continuity of mission-critical applications in a high-tech environment. Salary up to €5,500.

Function

As a Technical Application Engineer, you are responsible for managing and optimizing critical technical applications that support complex engineering and project environments. You ensure the availability, performance, and security of applications across their full lifecycle.

You will work closely with IT teams, functional stakeholders, and external vendors to maintain a stable and secure application landscape, while continuously improving systems and processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain secure, scalable application solutions
  • Manage application lifecycle activities including configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and patching
  • Monitor performance, resolve incidents, and perform root cause analysis
  • Implement and maintain application-level security controls
  • Manage integrations between applications, infrastructure, and external systems
  • Support application-related changes and incident management processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the application environment
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

  • MBO-4 or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application architectures (client-server, multi-tier, web, SaaS)
  • Hands-on experience with application installation, configuration, and management
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, middleware, and connectivity layers
  • Knowledge of security principles such as hardening and access control
  • Experience with technologies such as Microsoft, Citrix, 3DX, or Primavera is a plus
  • ITIL Foundation certification is an advantage
  • Experience in a technical, engineering, or industrial environment is preferred
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
  • Eligible for security screening (excellent references required)
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport required due to project-related regulations
