Function

As a Cable Lay Supervisor, you will work on board supervising the safe and efficient execution of subsea cable installation activities. You will support the Cable Lay Superintendent by coordinating offshore operations, supervising installation crews, and ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with project procedures, HSE requirements, and quality standards.

Specific duties in this role include:

  • Supervising the loading, transportation, and installation of subsea cables on board offshore vessels.
  • Leading and coordinating offshore installation crews during cable lay operations.
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out safely and in compliance with project procedures, HSE requirements, and industry standards.
  • Coordinating daily operational activities with the Cable Lay Superintendent, vessel crew, survey teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitoring installation progress and ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency throughout cable lay operations.
  • Identifying operational issues and supporting the implementation of practical solutions in demanding offshore environments.
  • Assisting with daily reporting and maintaining clear communication with the offshore management team.
  • Adapting to changing operational conditions and assisting with day-to-day work planning.

 

Requirements

  • You are looking for a long-term position.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience with subsea cable installation projects.
  • Experience supervising offshore installation crews.
  • Good leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, quality, and safety awareness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve operational challenges.
  • Willingness to work on a rotational basis: 5 weeks on/5 weeks off
