Project Engineer Hull Construction (€87K/year)
We are looking for a Project Engineer Construction, who will play a key role in transforming concept designs into a fully engineered and buildable hull, ready for production and delivery at the highest standards.
Functie
As Project Engineer Construction, you are the technical lead for the hull engineering scope within your assigned project. You manage the hull engineering process from start to finish, ensuring quality, functionality, and integration with the broader yacht design. Working closely with the Lead Engineer and the Project Manager Engineering (PME), you will oversee the engineering team, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate solutions for complex design and structural challenges.
You are the critical link between design, engineering, production, and suppliers—making sure the hull is feasible, compliant, and built to last.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure designs meet class, regulatory, and internal standards
- Support in defining scope and design boundaries
- Lead and coach a team of hull engineers
- Provide clear direction and monitor progress and quality
- Review and approve technical documentation and 3D models
- Support planning and resolve bottlenecks in engineering progress
- Represent the construction discipline in project meetings
- Facilitate technical discussions and ensure stakeholder alignment
Voorwaarden
- Bsc or Msc degree in Naval Architecture coupled with +3 years as a Project Engineer in shipbuilding
- Proven experience in hull construction engineering for large or complex vessels
- Proficient in CAD and 3D modelling tools – preferably AutoCAD, Cadmatic, and Siemens NX
- Familiarity with structural design, FEM, stress analysis, and construction processes
- Knowledge of exterior engineering, equipment integration, and weight management
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
