Quality Assurance Engineer Shipbuilding

As a Quality Assurance Engineer in the shipbuilding sector, you’ll travel across Western Europe to ensure our suppliers meet the highest standards in engineering excellence. You’ll be the driving force behind supplier audits, risk management, and process optimisation for world-class naval projects. Salary up to €72k per year.

Functie

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring supplier quality for cutting-edge naval shipbuilding projects. You will optimise supplier QA processes and procedures for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards. Your core tasks will include conducting thorough QA audits at supplier locations across Western Europe, providing expert oversight, guidance, and detailed reporting on any quality issues. This position involves frequent travel to ensure that quality standards are consistently met throughout the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Supplier QA Audits: Conduct on-site audits, report findings, and drive corrective actions at supplier facilities.
• Manage Supplier Quality Risks: Maintain a comprehensive risk register and implement effective mitigation measures.
• Advance Supplier QA Standards: Contribute to the development and application of best-practice QA principles.
• Ensure Quality Process Compliance: Verify correct implementation of supplier quality protocols and procedures.
• Implement Tailored QA Processes: Adapt QA approaches to meet unique supplier needs.
• Provide Strategic Quality Reporting: Deliver supplier QA status updates and issue-mitigation reports to project management

Voorwaarden

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in Quality Assurance management, ideally within naval, defence, shipbuilding, or complex industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes, preferably within shipbuilding.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quality Assurance, Technical Business Administration, Maritime Technology, Shipbuilding, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Proven experience in conducting quality audits and managing supplier quality risks.
• Solid understanding of QA standards and principles, with the ability to apply and implement them effectively.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to supplier sites across Western Europe.
