Cost Estimator

Functie

As a Cost Estimator, you will work closely with naval architects, proposal management, and suppliers to create complete and reliable ship concepts. You will analyze client specifications, prepare power balances and mechanical concepts, and develop thorough cost calculations. With your insight into risks, planning, and lessons learned from past projects, you contribute directly to the success of complex international shipbuilding projects. You will be part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary team and report to the Manager Design & Estimation.

• Analyze client specifications (RFQs) in close cooperation with the design team.
• Prepare mechanical concepts, power balances, and technical specifications.
• Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers.
• Develop accurate cost calculations for integrated vessels.
• Identify cost risks and propose alternative solutions.
• Stay up to date on developments in regulations, fuels, and environmental standards.
• Perform post-calculations to improve processes and cost models.

Voorwaarden

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Maritime, or similar field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Cost Estimator (preferably in shipbuilding).
• Broad technical understanding of ship systems and integration.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
