Senior Electrical Engineer (maritime projects)

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you work on a wide range of maritime projects, from concept to detailed design. You are responsible for the design of electrical installations, propulsion systems, and onboard automation for ships and offshore applications.

You translate client requirements into practical and innovative solutions and act as a key technical advisor for both clients and colleagues. Working in multidisciplinary teams, you contribute to complex projects across defence, offshore energy and special ships. 

Specific duties in this role include:

• Translating client requirements into concept and basic electrical designs.
• Designing and engineering electrical systems, including power distribution, propulsion, and automation systems.
• Contributing to both concept development and detailed design phases of maritime projects.
• Providing technical advice and consultancy to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated system solutions.
• Supporting or leading small project teams in electrical design activities.
• Acting as a key technical reference point within the electrical engineering discipline.

• BSc or MSc (HBO/WO) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the maritime sector.
• Strong expertise in concept and basic design of electrical systems.
• Broad understanding of ship systems and the ability to oversee the overall technical picture.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in project-based environments.
• Good communication skills in English.
