Senior Mechanical Engineer (maritime projects)

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you are involved in a wide variety of maritime projects, ranging from large-scale multidisciplinary developments to smaller, high-intensity assignments. You play a key role in the design and engineering of advanced mechanical systems, including onboard equipment and piping installations for floating offshore units and special ships.

You translate project requirements into practical and innovative mechanical solutions and act as a technical partner for lead engineers, clients and colleagues.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Translating project and client requirements into concept and basic mechanical designs.
• Designing and engineering mechanical systems, including equipment layouts and piping systems for maritime applications.
• Contributing to both concept development and detailed design phases of maritime projects.
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers in their professional development.
• Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated system solutions.
• Supporting or leading small project teams in mechanical design activities.

• A BSc or MSc degree in Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the maritime sector.
• Expertise in concept and basic design of mechanical systems.
• Broad technical knowledge and the ability to oversee the overall project and system context.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills in English.
