Design Control Team Leader (shipbuilding)

Functie

In this position, you will be responsible for leading a medium to small design control team throughout the basic and detailed engineering phases of specialized complex shipbuilding projects. This role encompasses various aspects such as hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, weight control, noise management or welding and preservation. This is a permanent position based in South Holland.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Manage day-to-day operations, short and medium-term planning of the team.
• Monitor and control the manhour budget, support progress reports, and deliver high-quality engineering work within schedule and budget.
• Actively involved in design reviews and coordinate technical support or commissioning activities for contracted projects.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications.
• Support the continuous evaluation and improvement of processes within the department.

Voorwaarden

We are looking for an ambitious Engineer who has experience in coordinating the engineering activities for shipbuilding projects. Furthermore, the following requirements should be met:

• Professional education on Bachelor or Master level, preferably in Naval Architecture, Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Proven track record of realizing structured work packages within budget and schedule, adhering to good engineering practices and statutory requirements.
• Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English language. Speaking Dutch is a strong asset.
