Lead Engineer Marine Piping Systems
Are you a seasoned expert in marine piping systems ready to play a key role in cutting-edge naval shipbuilding? Our client is looking for a highly skilled Lead Engineer Marine Piping Systems to join their team on a project-based interim assignment. In this crucial position, you’ll lead the design, engineering, and integration of complex piping systems for advanced naval vessels. You’ll collaborate closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure engineering excellence and regulatory compliance throughout all phases of the project.
Functie
As Lead Engineer, you will:
- Analyse and interpret technical specifications for marine piping systems across various naval projects.
- Develop both basic and detailed engineering packages using 2D and 3D CAD tools, ensuring consistency with Damen Naval standards and maritime regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee outsourced engineering work, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet all technical requirements.
- Provide expert advice on design improvements and best practices for piping systems.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and drive continuous improvement in design processes.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration for the seamless integration of piping systems into the broader ship design.
- Independently handle complex engineering challenges and conduct thorough technical reviews.
Voorwaarden
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in piping systems engineering, ideally within naval shipbuilding, offshore, or similar industries.
- Advanced proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools with a strong track record of modelling complex piping layouts.
- Proven experience in managing subcontractors and verifying outsourced engineering documentation.
- Solid understanding of statutory and classification regulations related to marine piping systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
