Naval Architect – Design Proposals

Functie
As the future Naval Architect, you will work in close collaboration with the Tender and Proposal teams in order to create and design the best tailored naval architecture solutions for clients or potential clients. You will be involved in creating task design for proposals and creating reports as part of the tender process.
Specific duties in this role include:
- Performing design and reporting activities in compliance with the project requirements
- Working on the specifications of the proposal projects, such as: requirements analysis, concept generation, general system architecture, weight and power estimations, identification and evaluation of design options, design of structures, arrangements, accommodation layout and specification and main ship balances
- Evaluating the designs that are against the requirements and preparing corresponding reports
- Writing the technical documentation, making equipment and contract specifications and being able to effectively communicate complex concepts and data within the project
- Communicating and ensuring alignment with stakeholders on technical aspects and proposed solutions
- Offering support in the cost evaluations from suppliers or internal stakeholders
- Collaborating with internal departments in order to optimize project outcomes
Voorwaarden
- Bachelor or Master degree in Naval Architecture or a related field
- Experience in naval architecture, preferably in working on building complex ships
- Expertise in a variety of design concepts and practices, including technologically advanced design and proposal processes
- Good command of the English language both written and verbal; Dutch language is considered a plus
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required
