Function

As a Specification Engineer Joinery, you will be responsible for variety of tasks in the field of Interior, such as accommodation, insulation, floor covering, various ship-specific living and working spaces. You will ensuring the successful subcontracting the required joinery/accommodation systems including detailed engineering. You will support and consult the purchasing department on technical matters. Furthermore, you will play a key role in transforming design concepts into detailed technical specifications, overseeing the engineering and engineering production support process

Specific duties in this role include:

• Performing technical writing of specifications based on the contract, rules, regulations and applicable standards.
• Developing detailed technical specifications for joinery works.
• Liaising with both suppliers and other stakeholders in order to determine final technical specifications.
• Preparing the orders in collaboration with the purchasing department.
• Perform required technical calculations to validate the design.
• Responsible for integration of delivered components/systems into ship design in close cooperation with internal departments, suppliers.
• Participate in design checks and reviews in order to guarantee the required quality.
• Final inspection at supplier.

Requirements

• Professional education on Bachelor level related in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Civil Architect, or related field.
• Good knowledge of joinery materials, techniques and industry standards.
• Proficiency in using CAD software for technical drawings and specifications
• Able to work and manage third-party vendors and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English language.
