Function
As an Assistant Project Manager / Jr. Technical Superintendent, you are involved in challenging Refit projects of inland vessels. Existing inland vessels are being converted from polluting diesel propulsion into “zero emission” propulsion, based on hydrogen technology. At a later stage you will be responsible for the maintenance of the fleet. With your broad technical and communication skills, you ensure the smooth progress at the shipyard in accordance with the required quality and delivery time of the Refits.
Specific duties in this role include:
- During the refits you will be the connecting link between the shipyard, various subcontractors and internal organisation including Engineering and project management.
- Focus on excellent project results by performing checks and inspections.
- Indirect managing of project employees on site and subcontractors.
- Maintenance of the fleet by drawing up and implementing maintenance plans.
Requirements
- Mbo-4 or hbo shipbuilding, mechanical engineering or Marof.
- Starting maritime professional with 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Passion for technology and a strong drive making the maritime sector sustainable.

Although fuel cells and hydrogen have already been tested in the marine industry, FPS expects this to be the first to demonstrate such a system for main propulsion at this scale, and in commercial operations.
